Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Why eat store bought hummus when it’s so easy to make it at home? We eat this all the time as a snack or appetizer!


  •  1 15 oz can of chickpeas/ garbanzo beans
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 1 tsp minced garlic, more according to your taste
  • 1.5 TBS lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • small jar of roasted red peppers (you’ll only use a few)
  • 1 TBS olive oil 
  • pita bread or chips


Drain the liquid from your canned chickpeas.

Place the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, salt and garlic in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.  

Add in red peppers (make sure they are completely drained of liquid), start with a couple and add more to your taste and the consistency you like.  Blend again until smooth.

Transfer hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika.

Enjoy!  Refrigerate leftover hummus in airtight container for up to a week.
